Deliveroo in 2025: A Leading Food Delivery Platform Across Europe and Beyond
Deliveroo is one of Europe’s most popular online food ordering and delivery platforms. It has a growing presence in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. Since its launch in 2013, Deliveroo has become synonymous with quick, reliable, and diverse food delivery options, connecting millions of hungry customers to their favorite local restaurants.
Expanding Reach and Partnerships
As of 2025, Deliveroo boasts:
Over 170,000 restaurant partners worldwide
Service in more than 800 cities
A customer base spread across 14 countries, primarily in Europe, but with a strong foothold in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
This expansion reflects Deliveroo’s commitment to forging new alliances with eateries of all sizes, from local cafés to international chains.
How Deliveroo Works
Deliveroo’s platform streamlines the entire delivery process, enabling restaurants to focus on preparing quality meals while Deliveroo handles logistics:
Customer Orders
Diners select dishes from your restaurant on Deliveroo’s website or mobile app.
Order Preparation
Once the order is confirmed, your kitchen prepares the meals following your standard process.
Delivery Logistics
Deliveroo’s network of riders collects the food and delivers it to the customer. Real-time tracking keeps customers informed about the order’s progress.
Flexible Options
Prefer to use your own drivers? Deliveroo allows restaurants to handle deliveries themselves. In addition, customers can opt for self-pickup if they’d rather collect their meals in person.

Fees and payments
Restaurants that work with Deliveroo are required to pay a commission fee on each order. A restaurant's commission percentage can vary based on the contract type, number of locations, and/or region, among other things. On average, restaurants are looking at around 25% to 35% commission fees.
Deliveroo also charges an onboarding fee as part of the sign-up process. This fee covers your menu and equipment photography, such as your tablet with online ordering software.
In general, restaurants will receive bi-weekly payments for their fulfilled orders via Deliveroo, which will credit their bank account with the total order value.
Tips to rank high in the Deliveroo app
With so many restaurants competing on one platform, it can be difficult to stand out. While Deliveroo doesn't disclose its exact ranking algorithms, there are things you can do to help your restaurant appear higher in the app's listing results.

Ramp up your delivery time.
Fast prep times and short courier wait times —and so, in short, faster delivery times - will boost your in-app ranking. Delivery time is a key factor in ordering online, and performing well in this area will help you score better with customers and Deliveroo.
Improve your conversion rate
You could have many page views on the Deliveroo delivery platform but few orders, resulting in a low conversion rate. Curating and optimizing your online menu for delivery is crucial to converting your lookers into bookers. Add clear menu item descriptions and attractive photos, and verify if your prices are reasonable compared to your competitors' and in-store prices. If a menu item isn’t landing well, replace it with another dish.
Streamline your operations
Other ranking metrics often used in third-party food delivery apps are your acceptance rate, cancellation rate, and average order accuracy. It’s important to accept orders as quickly as possible, avoid canceling orders, and ensure you don’t make any mistakes or forget to add menu items. A top performance will lead to better customer ratings and a higher ranking on Deliveroo.
Get featured
Deliveroo also has a “Top Rated” carousel, which is sometimes divided into several categories, such as “Fastest delivery,” “Recommended,” “Offers,” etc. Being featured in one of these sections is a quick way to increase your restaurant’s visibility. While only Deliveroo knows which metrics are used to determine which restaurants are picked, we imagine it is a mix of the abovementioned ones.
POS integrations
Deliveroo supports integrations with numerous point-of-sale (POS) systems so restaurants can connect their Deliveroo accounts to their POS systems.
Integrating your POS system can save your restaurant time, resources, and money. You can now automatically accept online orders from Deliveroo and send them directly to your POS system. This requires no “human intervention," meaning your floor staff can focus on serving in-house diners instead of having to follow up on incoming delivery orders.
Additional benefits include easy menu management—especially with a platform like Deliverect Restaurants, where you can sync your POS menus with Deliveroo.
The POS connection also enables restaurants to sync inventory in real time: each order accepted on Deliveroo is pushed to your point-of-sale system, which then automatically recalculates stock.
Advantages and drawbacks
As with all third-party food delivery services, signing up with Deliveroo has both pros and cons.
Deliveroo offers resources and experience restaurants may just not have, as well as secure payment options, a network of riders, bike couriers and walkers, and order tracking.
Being listed on the platform will increase your restaurant's visibility. You’ll be able to reach new audiences and markets without investing in marketing yourself.
