Highlights for Restalia and The Good Burger’s Partnership with Deliverect — TLDR

  1. Rapid Growth and Market Leadership: The Good Burger (TGB), part of Restalia Group, became Spain’s leading national chain of hamburger restaurants by location count in just seven years, boasting over 150 restaurants in Spain and expanding internationally.

  2. Unique Market Positioning: Restalia’s success with TGB is attributed to its unique offering of quality hamburgers at affordable prices, which allowed it to stand out in a seemingly saturated market and provide an excellent consumer experience.

  3. Pandemic-Driven Shift to Delivery: The COVID-19 pandemic led to a surge in TGB’s delivery orders, prompting a more efficient and error-free operating system, which became the primary sales channel during lockdowns.

  4. Streamlined Delivery Operations with Deliverect: By integrating Deliverect, TGB consolidated orders from all platforms into a single system, significantly reducing manual processing and errors, improving operational flow, and enhancing customer experience.

  5. Comprehensive Control and Real-Time Monitoring: Deliverect’s integration offers Restalia crucial control over its vast network, enabling real-time monitoring of franchises, management of menus and promotions, and identification of improvement opportunities.

Restalia improves The Good Burger’s delivery with Deliverect

Restalia was created in Spain in 2000, and while its name may go unnoticed by many, its franchises are known to all. This multinational restaurant group is behind the country’s most famous themed franchise chains: the 100 Montaditos Brewery, Cervecería La Sureña, Panther, Pepe Taco, and The Good Burger (TGB). It has conquered the world over the past 20 years with its dishes and now boasts over 730 locations in Europe, the United States, and Latin America.

Of all its franchises, The Good Burger is perhaps the most remarkable because of how much it has grown in such a short time: it has become the leading national chain of hamburger restaurants by number of locations in Spain in just seven years, with over 150 restaurants across the country and abroad (specifically in Italy and Portugal). Restalia opted for a seemingly saturated restaurant sector: hamburger joints. However, a unique proposal of quality hamburgers at affordable prices compared to American fast food succeeded and ousted the competition. The result? An excellent consumer experience.

Restalia has successfully launched new concepts in Spain, which have triumphed despite the stiff competition in the country’s restaurant industry. Its flexible, high-quality, and smart cost format models have responded to new consumer demands as well as those of entrepreneurs and investors, reaffirming its leadership in food service. But there’s more: Restalia franchises have managed to adapt to today’s fresh challenges by optimizing all establishments for delivery.

“By automatically accepting orders and integrating directly with our POS, we are able to save time and significantly reduce errors.” - Beltrán Soto, Head of Delivery at Restalia

Optimizing delivery: TGB case study

The pandemic has led to a rise in the volume of online orders. At Restalia, all TGB franchisees have been swamped. According to Beltrán Soto, Head of Delivery at the restaurant group, “TGB’s delivery orders really took off, so we needed a more agile, simpler, and error-free operating system. Since it became our main sales channel during the months of lockdown, we needed to provide the best possible customer experience.”

That’s when they turned to Deliverect, the perfect tool to manage home delivery orders. “With Deliverect, orders from all platforms are brought together in a single system, providing better control and overview of our sales through this channel,” says Soto. “By automatically accepting orders and integrating directly with our POS, it saves us time by reducing manual processing and also allows us to significantly reduce errors. These benefits give us the ability to improve operational flow and reduce preparation time, which ultimately translates into the best possible customer experience.”

“Deliverect allows us to manage menus and promotions without relying on third parties."

What else has Restalia achieved with Deliverect?

Restalia’s case requires more control since it has over 730 locations worldwide. To that end, being able to control what is happening in its restaurants is vital for a company of this size when it comes to knowing what needs to be improved.

Deliverect has also played a key role here. “It’s been the perfect solution that has benefited both our franchisees and Restalia Group. The integration has given us a better overview of the key metrics of this channel so that we can identify opportunities for improvement and help our franchisees increase their sales. In addition, this tool allows us to manage menus and promotions without relying on third parties and to monitor each franchise in real-time,” says the company’s Head of Delivery.

Restalia and Deliverect: the advantages of working together

With so many advantages, the partnership between Restalia and Deliverect looks like it will continue in the long term. With 100% of TGB’s locations fully integrated with Deliverect, the next step is to help optimize the operation of one of Restalia Group’s best-known franchises, 100 Montaditos. “The goal is to have all our brands integrated in the coming months,” concludes Soto
