Digital Growth for Taco Bell
Five-layer burrito, crunchy wraps, and Tex-Mex food that everybody loves. Does it ring a bell? It’s Taco Bell, one of the best-known restaurants in the world, which started operations in Costa Rica in 1990. Today, it has 46 branches in Costa Rica and 12 in Panama. Taco Bell is known for providing its taco lovers with emblematic and innovative products.
But what do you get when you create an iconic brand, delicious food, and a focus on a young segment? A big must: innovate but also have an agile delivery operation. As Gustavo Quiroz, Project Manager of Taco Bell Costa Rica and Panama, tells us: “During and post-pandemic, Delivery has been one of the most important channels within our organization.”
But as is always the case in this industry, competition is insatiable. That’s why it is necessary to improve and differentiate your brand even more; as Marco Valverde, Director of Technology at Taco Bell, points out:
"We have many more competitors within our market, which is why we have to have a much greater differentiation.”
However, growing and innovating also entails difficulties. Taco Bell Costa Rica also faced the management of many tablets with receiving online orders, reprocesses due to incorrectly entered orders, and other situations that represented inefficiencies and, of course, loss of money for the business.
Burrito 5 layers without the five-minute wait
Taco Bell relied on Deliverect to integrate and automate its delivery operation to solve the problems. Now, all orders go directly to the POS, avoiding the human factor in the process. With this, we reduced cancellations by up to 3% and significantly increased restaurant staff productivity.
"Before Deliverect, we used to take approximately five minutes. Now with the Deliverect integration, our orders are instantaneous at our POS."
The collaboration between Taco Bell and Deliverect has helped and empowered this iconic brand’s digital channels and restaurants. As Quiroz complements, “...Therefore (Deliverect) would be an ideal tool for the operation.”
"The service they (Deliverect) have given us has been incredible, bringing us solutions that have an important impact within our business."
Now, crunchy wraps, 5-layer burritos, and all the combos on the menu are delivered five minutes faster, so taco lovers in Costa Rica and Panama can enjoy more of the flavor they love.
